When I'm not doing philosophy
My favourite place to be is at home with my three cats, Catherine the Great, Khan, and Freya, and my new puppy, Karl Barx.
For a while back in Philadelphia, I spent a lot of my free time volunteering in cat housing at PAWS, the Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society. PAWS is a no-kill shelter, and it is also where I met and fell in love with the kitten now known as Freya. I was watching a lot of The Great British Bake Off and trying to replicate some of their creations (albeit gluten-free) - it's a delicious if crumbly journey - but quarantine baking has been an exercise in frustration. I like to paint, too, though that has also lost some of its appeal being cooped up inside.
So, I've been playing a lot of video games (most recently, Borderlands 3, Zombie Army 4: Dead War, and replaying some old favourites) or streaming sci-fi & comedy (e.g., The Expanse and A Black Lady Sketch Show).
As a new puppy parent, Karl has been keeping me very busy, but he is definitely worth it.
