Hello!
I am an Assistant Professor of Philosophy at McMaster University. I am also faculty in Gender and Social Justice
My research is at the intersection of feminist philosophy and early modern philosophy. I focus on socio-political relations like custom, friendship, and marriage as a means of epistemic, moral, and political transformation in the works of early modern women philosophers. Prior to joining McMaster, I completed my PhD in the Department of Philosophy at the University of Pennsylvania. While at Penn, I was lucky enough to participate in a host of philosophical engagement initiatives. I hope to continue that work in new ways here at Mac. |
How can you be content to be in the World like Tulips in a Garden, to make a fine show and be good for nothing?

I'm especially interested in historically-overlooked early modern women philosophers like Mary Astell, Madeleine de Scudéry, and Mary Wollstonecraft and the connection between historical and contemporary feminist developments like relational autonomy and epistemic injustice.

This year (AY24/25), I am teaching Modern Women Philosophers, Early Modern Philosophy, a fourth-year seminar on Relationship Ethics, and a graduate seminar in feminist philosophy (Bodies: Beauty, Monstrosity, Food, and Fat). You can see more about my past and present teaching and my syllabi here.
